In 2009 we reduced our landfill quantities by 95% in our kitchen! We strive to use local and sustainable products where possible and practical. As a local company we have always been committed to giving back to the community that has supported us so well over the past 20 years.

The Truffles Group of companies has an active Sustainability Committee that meets on a regular basis to share ideas and initiatives and optimize the effectiveness of policies, through such things as purchasing policies as well as re-use and recycle policies.

Our Food

We are Ocean Wise certified, and are members of the Island Chef’s Collaborative working with local producers.

Reduce / Reuse / Recycle

  • Cooking oils are recycled for biofuel
  • All glass, hard and soft plastics, styro-foam, and cardboard are recycled.
  • We compost all organics
  • Our dishwashers and appliances are low water use and energy efficient.
  • Food that is safe is provided to ‘Our Place’ after events. ’Our Place’ provides services for the homeless and less advantaged in Victoria.
  • Our offices and production facilities were built to provide abundant natural light reducing our requirement for electric lighting.
  • We use only 100% Post Consumer recycled paper in our offices.

Community Support And Citizenship

We are committed to our community and as such actively contribute generously every year to a range of causes from small, local based groups through to large organizations who make a significant difference in their various areas of specialisation and the community.
